Poles without soil removal

The technology devised by Marini Ermenegildo S.p.A., based on vibroflotation by means of VIBROPAL© vibro-injectors, makes it possible to construct foundation and/or consolidation piles without removing soil. Thanks to this technology, the geotechnical characteristics around the pile are significantly improved as a result of the lateral displacement of the soil and its compaction.

The work is carried out in a regime of maximum cleanliness of the site with a speed of execution higher than other technologies and with a site lay-out extremely simplified. A low environmental impact is obtained without additional costs and with significant savings in the management of the site.

The foundation works are made without the use of mud and polymers, usually used in traditional technologies for the support of the wall of the hole: lower costs for the transfer to landfill of excavated materials and extreme cleanliness inside the site and in the neighboring streets.

Foundation and consolidation

In the 300 and 400 mm diameters with variable lengths depending on the stratigraphy, they are used as foundations for plinths and rafts. The execution procedure allows to operate inside the excavation of plinths already drilled or from the ground level with management of the "empty" section. The piles are reinforced with a metal cage and, unlike other types of piles, do not require scapitozzatura: the concrete casting is controlled and stopped at the desired level.

The Marflutt pile can be rapidly installed in a wide range of stratigraphic situations, such as cohesive clayey, silt-sandy and slightly/moderately thickened sandy soils with a Qc of up to 10 MPa; the presence of water tables is practically irrelevant since the wall of the hole is constantly protected by the liner driven into the ground and, subsequently, by the concrete cast and strongly compacted by the vibration during liner extraction.

The VIBROPAL© vibro-injector allows the vibration to be managed within a range of high frequencies that guarantee compatibility of working near existing structures or buildings; it is established practice to guarantee compatibility of working by installing control units on such buildings. The lateral displacement of the soil and the vibration induced to the same, determine an improvement of the mechanical characteristics of the soil around the pile: Marflutt piles, cast in concrete or gravel, are often used for the consolidation of the site.
