While Marflutt piles without soil removal can be driven in diameters 300 and 400 mm up to about 30 m to build both foundation piles and soil consolidation works, Marflutt piles with soil removal allow the construction of foundation piles only in diameters 400, 500, 600, 800 mm reaching depths of about 20 - 25 m.
The methods of execution of the pile with soil removal foresee the insertion by means of VIBROPAL of a shaped tube without an openable tip at its end; the shaped tube is normally longer than the design length of the pile.
The characterization of the removed material coincides in fact with the realization of a survey for which the considerations already made for the pile without soil removal about the verification of the stratigraphy with the possibility of adjusting the lengths of the piles during construction are even more valid.
The use of the Marflutt pile with soil removal allows the execution of excavations with the same technology in more complex stratigraphic contexts or with the presence of tenacious or incoherent cohesive soils from medium to very thick. Sometimes it can be advantageous also the Marflutt pile with soil removal realized with diameters from 1000 to 2000 mm in particular geotechnical contexts.
